The Cellphone, Students, and Study
In this century cellphone becomes most important thing for almost all people especially students and workers. There are a lot of arguments popping out whether the cellphone is suitable for students or not. Due to the youths often use their phone in the class. There are some people perceive that cellphone is unsuitable for students, they assume that the cellphone could make the students less focus or even do not focus on their study, the youths tend to use cellphone to play games or spend their time on the internet to some platforms than listening to the lecturers or to the teachers in the class and it is kind of the distraction for students. While those who have different perception say that the cellphone is suitable for the students do to its benefits, they could use cellphone in the class to look for information for their study, and they assume that not all students tend to use phone for playing games or surfing the internet they assume that the cell phone tend to make the students easier to get the information through the internet by that small device which is called cellphone.
Based on Concordia University Portland said that there are five benefits of using cellphones in school for students. First, the students learn in a way they are comfortable with, which could make them enjoy the study. Second, the students can get answers quickly by surfing the internet. Third, audio and video can bring learning to life. Four, access to educational apps which could be positive equipment and the last is smartphones allow for social learning as they can move toward a common goals again, in the format that they are comfortable using. Those benefits which is written by Concordia University Portland could be proves that the cellphone is suitable for the students, but there must be the opposite effect of other by using cellphone for the students especially in the class.
Based on CNBC said that Government passed a law banning cellphones in schools. According to CNN, the law passed 62 votes to one. The policy came into effect during the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year and impacts students in kindergarten through the 9th grade. Some schools across the U.S. are enacting similar policies as a way to decrease distractions for students. “It was constant distraction for kids and what it became is a constant discipline issue and the students couldn’t be focus on study” Robin Kvalo, principal of Portage High School, tells Wisconsin Public Radio. Kvalo says the school confiscated over 200 phones during the last school year, and that students and teachers are seeing results. “They are not distracted anymore,” she says.” The phones are not their preoccupation. They know they can’t have the phones in the classroom. The facts above show us that cell phone has good and bad imoact to the students, but i myself believe that the advantage of the phone is more dominant than the disadvanage, According to your opinion which one is more make sense?
